The character of Hellboy has come a long way since its humble beginning on the pages of comic books. His adventure and life’s mission of combating crime has seen him venture over to motion pictures, animated features, novels and anthologies, video games and now most recently, as a online casino video slot game.

Motion Pictures

The rise of the Hellboy character and series of comics has led the international film industry to stand up and take notice, and because of this, two highly rated movies adaptations have been developed and released, with a third in the concept stage as we speak.
The First movie release in 2004, Hellboy starred Ron Perlman as the lead character of Hellboy. Garnering mostly positive reviews as well as good performances at international box offices, and second movie was quickly moved to concept stage to continue on the Hellboy wave of success.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army made its debut in 2008.
Hellboy III as mentioned is in its concept stage at present with similar attributes and characters depicted in the first two films returning in the third.

Animated Features

Animated Hellboy comic features where made available for release in 2005 through television and home entertainment channels. Actors involved in the motions pictures have all lent their voices to the animated forum.

2007: Hellboy: Blood and Iron – aired on Cartoon Network (75 minutes long)
2008: Hellboy 2 Pak – a limited edition twin DVD pack released (both animated stories included)

Novels and Anthologies

Christopher Golden is the brains behind many novels pertaining to the Hellboy character. Other Authors include Brian Hodge, Tim Leboon, Thomas E. Sniegoski, Tom Piccirilli and Mark Chadbourn. Mostly all of these authors collaborated with Mike Mignola, who provided the artwork cover for each of the novels.
